Acer palmatum ‘Atropurpureum’

A low-maintenance tree, it grows to about 20 feet tall with a low canopy, good for planting under power lines. It offers burgundy spring foliage that deepens to purple-tipped green leaves over the summer and become a luminous red each and every fall. It’s coarse gray bark and ruby branches add an interesting dimension to the landscape.
